Gout and Emu Oil

Gout and Emu Oil

Gout (aka metabolic arthritis or gouty arthritis) is a disease due to euric acid crystals that form around joints, tendons and surrounding tissues due to high levels of uric acid in the blood stream, causing an inflammatory reaction of these tissues.

This is where in my desperation to find a solution to gout in my big toe started. I love my tomatoes and my red meat, and have tended not to drink much when I should have, (that is water). Whether gout in my big toe was amplified by an injury in my young years or my love of pasta dishes, goodness knows.

That big toe, I kid you not, would become so sensitive to any knocks or touches, threatening my sanity and those who live with me.
This became more of a problem when I could not work, due to this crippling disease.

So if I got gout again, I would be out of action for anywhere between 4-6 days. I'm sure the boss was not happy about that! Gout medication seemed to help, but not quickly.

Well I figured, if pure emu oil is great for reducing inflammation naturally, I would rub the emu oil around my toe gently, 4-6 times a day. Drank lots of water. I reduced the amount of downtime from 6 days to 24-48 hours. Great Stuff!

It seems to work even faster if you start applying emu oil around your big toe, when you start noticing stiffness in your big toe.

Hope this can help someone out there.

Emu Oil - What To Look For When Buying Emu Oil

Here’s What To Look For When Buying Emu Oil

Talyala Emu Farm has been in the emu farming and emu oil retailing industry for over 20 years. We pride ourselves on selling high quality ‘fresh’ Pure Emu Oil and Emu Oil Capsules. Over this time we have had hundreds of people ask us ‘is it PURE EMU OIL’ or they have said ‘I have tried that ‘emu oil stuff’ and it didn’t work on my aches and pains’! When we actually talk to the people, nine times out of ten, the ones who have ‘tried’ emu oil and it ‘didn’t work’ have actually bought a product containing emu oil (a very small percentage in most cases) that is meant for moisturising and have thought it would work on their sore neck or knee. People need to be aware that there is a definite difference in the quality of the different Emu Oils on the market and so we have compiled a list of things that may help you when looking to purchase Pure Emu Oil.

Pure Emu Oil is an ‘oil’ not a cream

Pure Emu Oil is a natural product and can vary in colour from a yellowy colour to almost white. When pure emu oil is warm it will be in a liquid form (almost the consistency of olive oil) and when it is cold or refrigerated it will be more solid (like butter or even a bit harder)

Make sure the Pure Emu Oil you buy is listed with the Therapeutic Goods in Australia

All Pure Emu Oil should have an AUSTL Number on the label – this is the number to say that the product you are buying is listed with the Therapeutic Goods in Australia. The product has to go through stringent testing and must be processed and bottled at licenced premises. Unfortunately there are still some products on the market that do not meet these criteria – they are usually the cheaper versions

Read the Label to make sure it is ‘Pure Emu Oil’

Many of the products on the market today have the words ‘Emu Oil’ on the jar or bottle in large letters and then the words ‘cream’ or ‘crème’ written in very small letters under the large ‘Emu Oil’. In our opinion this is very misleading to the public – because they think they are getting the ‘Emu Oil’ that is good for helping them with their aches & pains, arthritis, eczema, psoriasis etc.

Beware of Pure Emu Oil with added fragrances

In most cases when you see a product saying ‘Pure Emu Oil with lavender’ or some other fragrance added you can almost bet that the emu oil is ‘older’ emu oil and the lavender or fragrance is used to cover up the ‘old or rancid’ smell.

There are good products out there with Emu Oil added – like Emu Oil Moisturiser, Emu Oil Rubs, Massage Oils with Emu Oil etc., but you must bear in mind what you want the product for.

There are many excellent products on the market as mentioned above but you must be aware of what they are used for. For example, an Emu Oil moisturiser is great for your face and for moisturising but it won’t do much for your aches and pains. Likewise, an Emu Oil Rub is usually very good for your aches and pains but you would never rub it on your face for moisturising.

This is where ‘Pure Emu Oil’ comes into its own – you can use ‘Pure Emu Oil’ for many things, including some of the following:

· Arthritis

· Eczema

· Psoriasis

· Aches & Pains

· Face Moisturiser

· Sunburn

· Burns

· Sporting Injuries

· Recent Bruising

· Soothes Insect Bites

· Healing Wounds

Make sure your Emu Oil is not mixed with other Mineral Oils

Again, you need to be careful that the product you are purchasing has nothing else added – it should have 100% pure emu oil. There are some products out there that are mixed with mineral oils and the truth is that to be the colour and consistency they are there would be very little actual emu oil in the product – in our opinion this is also very misleading to the general public – if in doubt read the label and make sure it says ‘100% Pure Emu Oil’ and that it has an AUSTL number. The number will be displayed on the label and should look something like this AUSTL95322 (it usually has either 5 or 6 numbers after the letters AUSTL)

Does the product you are buying come with a FULL MONEY BACK GUARANTEE – if not, why not?

It is our belief that if you have a good product that does actually work then you should guarantee it. Talyala Emu Farm has been guaranteeing their products for over 7 years and we are happy to say we do not get many returns or customers asking for a refund. Our guarantee is simply – ‘If you are not happy with the results of using our product, then please contact us and we will arrange to do a refund for you’

Do you want Pure Emu Oil in the bottle to rub in or Pure Emu Oil Capsules to take internally?

Pure Emu Oil Capsules are more for long term use. They are used for helping most of the symptoms that the Pure Emu Oil is rubbed on the outside for – arthritis, eczema, psoriasis, aches and pains etc. We have thousands of customers who now use ‘Talyala’ Pure Emu Oil Capsules for the above conditions and most find that once they take the capsules they do not need to rub the emu oil on the outside anywhere near as much. This makes it much easier for people who have a number of areas they need to treat – eg. Sore neck, back and knees – they do not need to rub it here, there and everywhere! The Emu Oil Capsules work on the symptoms from the inside.

How long have the people you are buying from been in business & do they know much about Emu Oil – or do they just sell emu oil products as a sideline and buy cheap imitations and hope the customer will not know the difference ?

There are many great operators out there, but you just need to be careful about how much back up service and information you will be able to get after you have purchased your product.

Can you make a quick Phone Call to a FREECALL number with any questions you would like to ask prior to purchasing product ?

Some companies have a Freecall Phone number which is very handy if you have any questions, while other companies expect you to email them and sometimes you have to wait for your answer for days or sometimes even weeks. In this impatient society we live in we all want quick answers and want it now !

Do they have a REAL address and are they easily accessible?

With all the good things about the internet you still need to be careful that you are dealing with ‘real people and/or a real company’ and it helps ease your mind if they do actually show an address and phone contact details rather than just an email address as a contact.

We at Talyala Emu Farm hope that this information will be helpful for you as you make your choice about which Emu Oil to try and if you have any questions whatsoever, please feel free to phone us on:

Emu Oil - Benefits

Emu Oil will hydrate and moisten the skin especially if it has been dried or chapped by the harsh Australian elements.

Vitamin E occurs naturally in emu oil. Pure emu oil has anti-inflammatory properties and is known for its penetrating ability. The ability to penetrate the skin is brought about by the high levels of oleic acid.

Many massage therapists and chiropractors use Emu Oil because it gets into the muscles and relaxes them before treatment, which in turn makes the results of the treatment last longer.

Apart from being used in the pure form Emu Oil is also used in the cosmetic and medical fields. Emu Oil is a good emulsifier - it has the ability to blend oil and water together and produce a cream that does not feel oily on the skin.

Another property of Emu Oil is that it is bacteriostatic. Tests show that in its pure state, Emu Oil grows no bacterial organisms. For this reason pure non-contaminated Emu Oil has a long shelf life.

Emu Oil has a low potential for irritation of the skin. At full strength Emu Oil has irritation levels so low that they are the same as those found in putting water on the skin i.e. almost non-existent.

Emu Oil does not clog the pores of your skin and leaves no greasy residue.

Much research is still being done on Emu Oil all over the world.
